Elaine lives in Queensland, Australia with her husband Lou and their dog Caddy, and is currently completing a Master of Letters at her local university. After a career as a graphic artist and copywriter Elaine retired from the rat race and turned to writing children’s fiction. She has written three trilogies. Barben’s Magic Quest and The Mystery Of The Hidden Valley, are in her favorite genre, magic.

Lost In A Strange Land: an adventure series about four unique Australian native animals, lost in an English forest.

While  on a visit to England, Elaine was fascinated to learn that some native British animals, while different in appearance to Australia's animals, live in a similar way. She set out to write an exciting and interesting series that would teach children about the animals of both countries. The stories also deal with the sadness of leaving close friends behind, and relate the interaction between the animals of both countries as they meet.

‘The Adventures of Willamena Wombat’ is the first in a trilogy that relates the adventures of these four Aussie animals. The stories cover the interaction between the unique animals of both countries, who, while very different, live in a similar manner.
